ASUP Strike: Union Releases Conditions to End Strike


The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, (ASUP) have listed the conditions that would put an end to the 11-month old stike embarked upon by the union.

ASUP chairmanFederal Polytechnic,OffaDr Sola Ojeniyi, listed the conditions as establishment of the national polytechnic commission (NPC) and total removal of the dichotomy between university and polytechnic education.

Dr Ojeniyi said: “It is a symbolic display of apathy against children of the poor that were denied opportunity of university education and attempt to remove every dignity attached to their portion. ASUP will continue to say ‘no’ until the dichotomy is totally removed; polytechnic education is properly funded and national polytechnic commission (NPC) is established.”
