The African Liberty Students’ Organization (ALSO), FUNAAB Branch, has endowed the University with a collection of books on Agriculture, Education, Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Morals.
During the presentation, the pioneer President of ALSO in Africa and the current Outreach Assistant of the organization in Africa, Mr. Moronfolu Adeniyi, a 500-level student in the Department of Home Science Management, said the books were donated to advance the academic pursuits of students of the University.
While the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Adekojo Waheed, appreciated the gesture, the University Librarian, Dr. (Mrs.) Mulikat Salaam, promised to ensure that the books were made available to students to enhance their knowledge.
Speaking with FUNAAB Bulletin, the President of ALSO, FUNAAB Branch, Mr. Raji Lateef, a 500-level student in the Department of Agricultural Administration, said the organisation offered an avenue for African students to express their rights to freedom.
Meanwhile, ALSO exists in nine African countries and FUNAAB chapter is the first to be established in Africa.
