JAMB Cut-Off Marks for 2015/2016 Admission Exercise

JAMB Cut-Off marks for 2015 admission has been agreed as follows – for degree awarding courses – 180 marks – and for non degree awarding courses 150 marks.

We are happy to notify all that candidates that participated in the 2015/2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has finally released the official cut-off mark for  universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and monotechnics in the country.

At the 2015 combined policy meeting on admissions to degree, National Certificate of Education, NCE and National Diploma, ND, Awarding institutions, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Dr MacJohn Nwaobiala, said that the JAMB UTME cut off mark for Universities is 180 points and above, while that of Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and Monotechnics is 150 points and above.

Now that the 2015/2016 JAMB UTME cut-off mark has been announced, individual tertiary institutions can now go ahead to fix their respective cut-off marks and announce the dates for their respective post-UTME tests. These cut-off marks can only be higher than the announced one, but not lower.

According to the Permanent Secretary, “So what we did today is to ensure that we clearly agree on the procedures and timeline and other issues relating to admission in our tertiary institutions. And the most important is that we have agreed on a deadline, when admission would be completed. We agreed that all admission process should be completed by 31st of October, 2015. Very importantly we also agreed on a cut-off mark, just like last year, for degree awarding courses it was agreed 180 marks and for non degree awarding courses 150 marks. Admission would be based on ration 60:40 in favour of science courses to Art courses and ration 70:30 for courses in Technology and non technology courses respectively”.
