This is to inform the general public that the 2016/2017 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration commencement date has been announced..

We have decided to create this Portal to avail our readers with the latest trend about 2016 JAMB UTME.

2016 JAMB UTME registration will now be done through JAMB certified registration centres nationwide.

The 2016 JAMB UTME will only feature Computer Based Test – CBT (just like the previous conducted UTME).

As at the time of this publication, The registration period for the examination will last between Monday, 31st August, 2015 and Sunday, January 31st, 2016.

2016 JAMB UTME Registration Documents.

At the point of purchase of the e-registration scratch cards, the following documents shall be made available for collection by every candidate.

  • Syllabus for the examination in soft copy.
  • Guidelines on admission (Brochure) in soft copy, detailing list of Tertiary Institutions and available programmes of study.

Please note that the items listed above are at NO EXTRA cost to the candidates, and writing materials and calculator will be made available to the candidate on the day of the examination.

2016 JAMB UTME Registration General Instructions.

The 2016/2017 UTME form is sold at the cost of N5,000.00 (five thousand naira) only and candidates will be tested on a newly introduced novel, ‘The Last Days at Forcados High School’ which will be sold at an additional cost of N500.oo (five hundred naira).

Some of the designated banks from which the forms could be purchased include; Zenith Bank, Skye Bank, Union Bank, First Bank and NIPOST.

JAMB Change of Courses and/or Institutions.

Change of course(s) and/or institutions shall be allowed by the Board after the release of results.

The fee for change of course(s) and/or institutions is N2,500.00 (Two Thousand, Five Hundred Naira only).

2016 JAMB UTME Date and Venue.

  • The 2015 CBT will commence on Monday, February 29th and end on Monday, March 14th, 2016.
  • The venue of the examination will be at the candidates’ chosen town during on-line registration.

JAMB General Entry Requirements.

The general entry requirements approved for admission into the First Degree, National Diploma (ND), National Innovation Diploma (NID), and Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes in Universities, other Degree-Awarding Institutions, Monotechnics, Polytechnics, Innovation Enterprise Institutes and Colleges of Education are available in the Brochure which accompanies registration materials.

Please note that a matriculated student in any university is not eligible to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) except those who are transferring from foreign Universities.

General Information

i. The registration fee, once paid is not refundable.

ii. Registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is On-line (via internet) and all applicants are advised to register by themselves. All required information must be provided.

iii. Applicants are advised to read and understand the instructions on how to complete the on-line registration before visiting any cbt centre.

iv. Candidates should study the guidelines on admission before registration.

v. Candidates who damage or lose their scratch cards before registration will have to purchase another scratch card.

vi. Multiple entries are not allowed. Candidates who register more than once will have their entire results cancelled.

vii. Candidates should note that their uploaded image or photograph will be embossed on their result slips and admission letters.

viii. Candidates can access the Board’s website on ( for registration using the registration scratch card. Registration can be done on the website at anytime within the stipulated registration period through any of the accredited and authorised CBT centres.

ix. Candidates are to note that irrespective of their choice of course of study or method of testing, they will also be tested on a general book. “The Last Days at Forcados High School” By A.H. Mohammed

Candidates are to note that there will be no extension of the date of registration.

      @Rahamanu, there is no way you can change your course. You can either change your course or your Institution.

      @Sandra, you need to have your certificate and yes, you can gain admission with direct entry. Make sure you carefully check out the requirement of the course you intend to study and that of the school you wish to choose.

      @Dominic, No, Your combination should be English, Lit. in Eng., one other Arts or Social Science subject.

      @Franklin, Psychology SSCE requirement: Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, mathematics, Biology and any two relevant subject from Arts, Social Science or Science subject as specified by the institution while for Law, Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics. The Jamb combination isn’t different.

    Pls Sir, can one have a change of course from PHARMACOLOGY to GEOGRAPHY, even with the slight differences in their utme subject combination? Which obviously is “geography”! If yes, I hope disqualifcation will not arise from the exemption of geography itself,since I’m now opting for PURE GEOGRAPHY? PLS I NEED URGENT HELP

      @Rapheal, it is possible after you have written your jamb exam but it might affect your chances of being admitted due to differences in the Jamb required subjects.

      @Bj, you cannot register online because you will need to do your biometric which is only approved via the Jamb accredited Centres.

    sir.. 1. I wanted to study psychology and I was registered to study phisiology. Pls what can I do. 2. I have Waec as my O level and my O level was registered as Neco.. I hope it won’t affect me. Though my Utme subjects r English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
