LASU Churns Out 26 First Class Graduates at 22nd Convocation


A total of 57, out of 14,369, graduating students of the Lagos State University (LASU), will be awarded first class Degree during the 23rd convocation ceremony, representing the highest figure produced by the institution in its 36 years of existence.

For the first time in its 36 years of existence, about 57 students will graduate with first class degrees as the Lagos State University (LASU) holds her 23rd convocation ceremonies this month.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, who disclosed this to journalists yesterday ahead of the institution’s convocation ceremony billed to commence on Friday, May 10, 2019, said that the duo of Ridwan Oladotun Ola-Gbadamosi from the Faculty of Engineering and Nneka Karen Enumah of the Faculty of Science emerged as the overall best graduating students with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.88.

He said of the total number of graduates, 57 are in the first class, 1,233 second class upper, 8,471 second class lower, 467 third class and 24 in the pass grade.

Fagbohun further stated that about 1,532 would be graduating in the post-graduate diploma courses, 520 in academic Masters, 1,994 professional Masters and 17 in Doctor of Philosophy.

Meanwhile, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is billed to deliver the convocation lecture on Thursday, May 16, 2019 while former Ghanaian President, John Damani Mahama, would chair the event.
