Edo Teacher Identifies UNIBEN as Local Government:

Oshiomhole

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State stunned many delegates, including a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Femi Falana, when he said a teacher in one of the secondary schools in his state listed University of Benin among the local governments in the state. He said he was also astonished when he paid an unscheduled visit to another school and saw the pupils milling round the school premises even when it was not break time. He called one of them and asked where his teacher was.

The teacher, who was among others under the tree answered,  “Na me be him teacher.” Oshiomhole, who was in company of some foreigners on appraisal of transformation carried out in schools in the state, said he had to change the topic in order not to embarrass himself. With this, he said he decided that teachers in the state should undergo a test, an action he said was not aimed at sacking anyone but for the redeployment of those not suitable to teach to other sectors.
