The tenure of the vice chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor James Sunday Adelabu ends today after a five-year sojourn in the almost 30-year-old institution.

In his valedictory speech to newsmen in Abuja after a tour of his projects within the permanent site of the institution, Adelabu clarified issues about the N3billion contract allegedly awarded in the twilight of his administration.

He said, “How can I award a contract like that given the fact that the NEEDS assessment is involved for which tendering and opening of bid was done? It was not even by the university but by a consortium.
