Wike Still Supervising Education Minister – Aide:
Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant, Media, to the supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike, said on Monday that minister had not resigned from his appointment.
Nwakaudu stated this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“The report being circulated online to the effect that he has resigned is false in its entirety.
“It is planted report by mischief makers,” the statement said.
It said the minister had on Saturday represented the President at the 43rd Convocation of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
It also noted that Wike was in his office at the Federal Ministry of Education to attend to official functions in the ministry.
The statement also noted that the minister “will be performing the ground breaking ceremony for the Special Vocational School in Delta State”.
It added that he would hold a town hall meeting for federal universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in the North East at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi next. (NAN)
