Yobe Massacres: Bauchi Receives 200 Students, Staff from Yobe:

The Federal Ministry of Education has explained that over 200 staff and students transferred from the high-risk security areas have arrived the Federal Government Girls’ College, Bauchi after the closure of their schools by the government over security challenges in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States.

The Coordinating Officer, Inspectorate Unit, Federal Ministry of Education, Bauchi State office, Mallam Muhammad Abdullahi, stated this yesterday while answering question from newsmen in Bauchi.

He said that parents and students complied with the directives by the Federal Government in connection with students moving to both the Federal Government Girls’ College, Bauchi and Federal Government College, Azare, also in the state.

According to Abdullahi, “at the Federal Government’s Girls’ College, Bauchi, over 200 students and their teachers had arrived. All of them were accommodated because arrangements were made for them by the principal of the school.”

When newsmen visited the Federal Government Girls College, the Principal of the college, Hajiya Aisha Altine Sheji was said to have travelled to Abuja on official assignment.
However, a staff of the college confirmed to newsmen that they received students, majority of them from Federal Government’s Girls’ College, Potiskum in Yobe State.

The source said that “the principal had completed arrangement to receive the teachers and their students before travelling to Abuja,” adding that “adequate preparations were made in the area of provision of classroom and hostel accommodations.’’
According to her, “before their coming, we had 35 students in each class room, but with this, the number has increased to 45, which is still conducive for teaching and learning.” (Vanguard)
