Cross River University of Technology

The administration of Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) has raised concerns over the significant number of students who have failed to fulfill their financial obligations to the institution. The situation is gravely affecting the university’s operations.

First Year and Continuing Students Defaulting on Fees

Notably, first-year students and those in continuing programs have yet to pay their school fees. Additionally, many first-year students are still to make payments for their matriculation ceremony. The financial strain this defaulting behavior is causing is having a severe negative impact on the administration of the institution.

Management Directive on Fee Payment

In light of the dire situation, CRUTECH management has issued directives to address the issue. The university has a firm “No Fee, No Examination” policy and has reminded students, particularly the first-year students, about this stringent rule.

  1. Directive to First Year Students: The management has reminded first-year students who have not yet paid their school fees that the university’s “No Fee, No Examination” policy is in effect. These students are urged to make all necessary efforts to pay their fees before the end of examinations on June 14, 2023. The institution has also noted that late payment of school fees will attract additional charges as a penalty.
  2. Directive to Continuing Students: Similarly, continuing students are also encouraged to clear all outstanding fees on or before the end of the first semester examinations, scheduled for June 14, 2023, to avoid undesirable consequences.
  3. First Year Students and Matriculation Fee: First-year students who did not pay for their matriculation ceremony are advised to settle the prescribed fees before their examination commences. The university warned that failure to comply will result in a fine of ₦2,000.

Appeal to Students, Parents, and Guardians

CRUTECH management appeals to students, parents, and guardians to note and give effect to these directives. The institution has urged all parties involved to comply in the interest of the students and the smooth running of the university.

The university administration remains committed to providing the best possible education for its students. It implores the students to fulfill their part by meeting their financial obligations promptly.
