FUOTUOKE Gets Approval for 16 More Academic Programmes


Federal University Otuoke, FUOTUOKE recently received approval for 16 more academic programmes. This will enable the university admit up to 2500 students for the 2016/2017 academic session.

Federal University Otuoke has added sixteen (16) programmes to twelve already existing ones, and will admit students in the next academic session.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Seth Accra Jaja announced this while interacting with students of the institution at its maiden congress Friday. July 8 2016.

Prof. Jaja who also said the University intends to admit 2500 students in the next Academic Session noted that efforts are being made to create an enabling environment to accommodate the new intakes.

Among the Faculties that got approval for new programmes Include, Engineering with 8 programmes, Management Sciences 4 programmes while Biology programme was added into already existing 6 programmes in the Sciences.

The University also received approval for the establishment of Faculty of Education which according to the VC will commence academic programme by the next Session.

Prof .Jaja enjoined the students to be good ambassadors of the University, maintaining that management is working hard to lay a solid foundation.

Earlier in his remark, the student Union government president, Comrade. Steven Akariwa commended the Vice Chancellor and other management members for making out time to interact with the students.

The SUG president urged the University management to create an enabling environment for learning and adequately address numerous challenges confronting the students of the University. which were brought to the attention of the VC at the maiden congress.
