He commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) for providing a special intervention to the university.

“What they gave the university in terms of normal intervention this year was increased from over N300 million to N646 million. Infact, beside the high impact that we got, there were also other special interventions that we got from them,” he said.

He added that the interventions contributed towards the provision of structures and laboratory equipment needed for the programme.

“The university has state of art equipment and has trained 105 lecturers for Phd and MSC programmes abroad since its establishment in 2008. Departments of Chemistry, Biological Science and General Agriculture are among those that will commence the post graduate programmes. In Chemistry alone, we have about four professors on ground and when you have up to seven to 10 PhD holders, you can start. NUC requirement is when you graduate two set, we have graduated three sets and we have enough senior lectures to kick off,” he added.
