NTI Denies Awarding N1.5 Billion Contract:

The National Teachers Institute (NTI) has denied ever awarding a N1.5billion contract for the printing of training manuals and customised CD plates in the 2012 MDGs.

Denying the allegation, Mallam Yushau Ahmed, public relations officer (PRO) of the institute, told reporters in Kaduna yesterday that the whole contract in question was for N241million and it passed through the process of public procurement.

Media reports had claimed that the police authorities are investigating a contract fraud amounting to N1.5billion, representing contract for the printing of training manuals and customised CD plates in the 2012 MDGs.

He said the malicious publications only aimed at tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of the institute, its leadership and management as all its activities are carried out within the purview of the law. (Leadership)
