Tinubu Now LAUTECH Chancellor


The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been named chancellor of  Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, in  Osun State.

The university authourities in a bulletin said it  will on Wednesday, 23rd April invest the former governor of Lagos State  with the position of the chancellor of the university.

It was gathered that Tinubu will on the same day be awarded the D.Sc (Honoris Causa) in Management Sciences by the institution.

The convocation and investiture award and lecture are expected to take place in the SIFAX Lecture Theatre within the premises of the university in Ogbomoso.

The school authourities said the  lecture will be delivered by Dr Robert Michael Franklin, president emeritus of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

He has been scheduled to speak on “Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education for Nigeria, Africa and the Diaspora.”

Robert is said to have worked closely with faculties, students, other leading universities and major philanthropic organisations to accelerate STEM education and economic development.

He had before now  served as a program officer at the Ford Foundation when several distinguished Nigeria scholars and leaders came to the foundation to discuss and plan for the Nigeria’s future. (Leadership)
